About

About Us

Built around people.

Since our founding in 1945, we’ve always been just as proud of the people behind the work as the buildings we construct. We work hard to help our team, clients, and communities thrive by believing that every good endeavor is Built Around People. As a result of this commitment to people and our world-class safety program, EV Construction is consistently rated a top place to work in the country.

Together, we’re leading the way toward a construction industry that doesn’t see people as numbers or trade contractors as less than equals, but sees people as the true foundation for any successful build. The team we built our business around brings unique, professional experience and the drive to deliver unmistakable projects. Our commitment to building relationships as we manage a project has allowed us to retain and partner with some of the best professionals in the country. Our expertise and professionalism will give you the support to complete your project with confidence.

What we Do

Construction
Management

A construction management (CM) arrangement offers the greatest combination of traditional contracting services and early planning resources. Our CM team draws on decades of experience to customize the process for the unique needs and goals of the client. Whether an Agency CM is needed, or a CM at-risk, we’ll lead the way. Our CM process can also be adapted to include architectural and engineering services, a model better known as Design-Build.

Self-performed
Trades

EV employs one of the largest in-house trade forces in West Michigan. Our team is comprised of craftspeople in seven high-performing trade divisions that increase quality control, reduce labor shortage risk, and improve project schedules. Our in-house trades include:

  • Demolition
  • Sitework
  • Rough Carpentry
  • Interiors
  • Painting
  • Carpentry/General Trades
  • Firestopping

Firestopping

Making the places where we work and live safe goes beyond what the eye can see. Our firestopping team is committed to using a variety of products and devices to ensure buildings are safe in the event of a fire. We were the first in Michigan to be dually certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Factory Mutual (FM). Our motto of “Beyond Compliance” is one we champion with pride in every aspect of our work.

Whether you need a single door replacement or a larger building modification, we leverage our in-house expertise to deliver high-quality results—quickly and efficiently.

What we build

We serve a wide range of industries and project types. From small to large, complex to straight forward, our specialty is adapting a team and our process to your needs. With a seasoned team, robust self-perform trades, and a proven track record, we’re equipped to take on large-scale, ground-up construction projects exceeding $200 million—without losing the personal, people-first approach we’re known for.
