EV Construction Surpasses 1,500 Days Without a Lost Time Injury

EV Construction Wolverine Worldwide Expansion Rockford Michigan

At EV Construction, safety isn’t just a checklist item—it’s a core value that guides every project, decision, and interaction. This month, we’re proud to share an incredible milestone: our team has surpassed 1,500 days without a lost time injury. That’s more than four years of keeping our team members safe on the job.

A “lost time injury” refers to any work-related injury or illness that prevents an employee from performing their regular duties or requires them to take time off work. Avoiding these incidents for such a significant period is no small feat in the construction industry, where complex project sites, heavy equipment, and ever-changing conditions can present daily hazards.

How We Got Here
Our achievement is the result of a company-wide commitment to safety. This includes:

  • A Culture of Accountability – Safety is everyone’s responsibility. We empower every employee—whether they’ve been here for one week or 20 years—to speak up if they see something unsafe.
  • Rigorous Training – From onboarding to ongoing education, every EV team member is trained to identify hazards, follow safety procedures, and use protective equipment correctly.
  • Daily Safety Planning – Before work begins, teams meet to review tasks, identify risks, and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Proactive Safety Programs – Our Safety Committee regularly audits project sites, reviews near misses, and adapts procedures to continually improve.

Why It Matters
This milestone is more than a number—it represents thousands of workdays where our people went home safe to their families. At EV Construction, we believe that true safety leadership comes from a place of care and responsibility for one another. To us, Leading from the Heart means we are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers on every project site—not because we have to be, but because we want to be.

Safety isn’t about policing or punishment; it’s about creating a culture where everyone looks out for each other, speaks up when they see a hazard, and takes action to prevent accidents before they happen. We focus on fostering an environment where people feel empowered to make the right decisions, hold each other accountable, and go home safe every day. When safety is rooted in care, trust, and teamwork, it becomes second nature—and that’s what makes our culture different.

As a nationally recognized leader in construction safety, we have earned numerous awards for our commitment to protecting people. But we also know that a strong safety culture does more than prevent injuries—it enhances quality, fosters clear communication, and improves efficiency on every project. A safe project site is a productive project site, and we hold ourselves accountable for maintaining the highest safety standards in everything we do.

Looking Ahead
While we’re proud of this accomplishment, we know that safety is a journey without a finish line. Our goal is not only to maintain this streak but to continue strengthening our practices so that every project—big or small—is completed without injury.

We’d like to thank our entire team, our trade partners, and our clients for supporting our safety-first approach. Here’s to the next 1,500 days—and beyond.
