Bringing Families Together: Inside EV Construction’s Staycation Tradition

EV Construction Staycation Spring Break

When Spring Break arrives in early April, many Michigan families pack their bags and head for warmer destinations. But not everyone travels. At EV Construction, we believe staying home can be just as memorable.

That’s why each year, we organize a week of “Staycation” activities designed for our employees and their families to enjoy right here in West Michigan.

A Different Kind of Spring Break

Our Staycation program offers something simple but meaningful: time together.

Throughout the week, employees can choose from a variety of family-friendly outings at local attractions. Each day features a different experience, and employees can select up to two activities to attend with their families. Tickets and reservations are taken care of by EV Construction.

By removing the cost and planning barriers, we make it easier for families to step away from their routines and focus on what matters most.

Exploring West Michigan Together

One of the best parts of Staycation is the chance to experience the community we call home. Each year, activities vary, but past outings have included visits to places like John Ball Zoo, jumping into fun at Rebounderz, and getting creative at Paint A Pot.

Families have also spent time swimming at Holland Aquatic Center, bowling at Hudsonville Lanes, exploring nature at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, and discovering hands-on exhibits at Grand Rapids Children’s Museum.

Whether it’s active, creative, or educational, there’s something for every family to enjoy and often, something new to try.

Supporting Time That Matters

Staycation is just one way we support our employees in showing up for life’s important moments.

Through our Hall Pass program, team members receive up to eight hours of paid time each year to attend school field trips, classroom celebrations, and other milestones with their children. This includes time to participate in Staycation activities, reinforcing our commitment to flexibility and family-first values.

More Than a Benefit

Programs like Staycation and Hall Pass are part of a broader approach to employee well-being at EV Construction. We know that when people feel supported both at work and at home, they bring their best to everything they do.

Spring Break doesn’t have to mean getting away; it can also mean coming together. And at EV, we’re proud to help make those moments happen.
