The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) recently announced their 2026 PCI Design Award Winners. Three jury panels consisting of an array of industry professionals selected a total of 34 winners and 22 honorable mentions. The Pine Rest Pediatric Center for Behavioral Health was named as one of the Building Award Winners for 2026.
“The project’s design centers around the concept of a treehouse, an idea that originated in community and patient meetings to evoke the soothing and therapeutic aspects of nature while also expressing a playfulness that would appeal to children,” said BWBR Principal Melanie Baumhover. “We chose precast concrete primarily for the time it would save in the construction process and the ability to have several aesthetic finish options with one primary wall type.”
