EV Construction has been a long-standing member of ABCWMC. Found in 1957 as a chapter of the national organization, the trade association was founded for the advancement of the merit shop construction philosophy to encourage free enterprise and award contracts based solely on merit, not labor affiliations. EV Construction has been a long-time supporter of the organization. At the board level, prior to Novakoski’s appointment, Tony Roussey, Chief Operating Officer, served from 2015-2022.

Novakoski joined EV Construction while studying civil engineering at Michigan Technological University in 1995. Novakoski quickly raised through the ranks from APM to project manager, senior project manager and vice president of operations. In January 2022, he expanded his role to also become the company’s safety director.

Aside from being a vice president and board member at EV Construction, Novakoski is a board member and past chair for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland, a board member of the Allegan County Economic Development Commission, on the Industry Advisory Board for Michigan Technological University and a member of the Saugatuck Township Board of Review. Novakoski is also a lifelong learner, continuing his education at Grand Valley State University where he earned his MBA, and graduating from programs at the Dale Carnegie Institute and Stagen Foundational Leadership.  He holds his license as a professional engineer (P.E.), a certified professional constructor (C.P.C) and a Certified Healthcare Constructor through the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE), among others.

Of his appointment, Novakoski stated, “I feel privileged to be appointed to the ABC Western Michigan Chapter Board of Directors.
