Building the Future, Brick by Brick: EV Construction Celebrates Women in Construction Week 2025

At EV Construction, we believe that building a strong future means building a diverse and dynamic workforce. And when it comes to the construction industry, we know that women are a vital part of that equation. That’s why we’re celebrating Women in Construction (WIC) Week, which takes place March 2nd – March 9th, 2025.

It’s true that the construction industry has historically been male-dominated, but there’s a noticeable shift happening. Currently, there are over 1.3 million women employed in the U.S. construction sector. Approximately 11.5% of the construction industry’s payroll employees are women. At EV Construction, just over 23% of our payroll employees are women – double the national average.

Speaking of pay, the construction industry offers well-paying jobs. Across all industries, there is still a pay gap between men and women. However, the construction industry has one of the smallest gaps between men and women – and it keeps getting smaller. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women earn 95.5% of what men make in construction on average compared with 82.9% in other industries.

WIC Week, organized by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), is a crucial opportunity to:

  • Highlight the contributions of women in construction: From project managers and engineers to skilled tradespeople and administrative professionals, women are making significant impacts on job sites and in offices across the country.
  • Raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the industry: We want to inspire the next generation of female leaders and skilled workers to consider careers in construction.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment: We believe that everyone deserves a chance to thrive, and we’re committed to creating a workplace where women feel valued, respected, and empowered.

Why is WIC Week Important to EV Construction?

At EV Construction, we understand that diversity drives innovation and strengthens our team. We’re committed to creating a culture that celebrates the unique perspectives and talents that women bring to the table. We recognize that:

  • Diverse teams are more effective: Different perspectives lead to better problem-solving and more creative solutions.
  • The construction industry needs skilled workers: We need to tap into the full potential of our workforce to meet the growing demand for construction services.
  • Building a strong community means building opportunities for everyone: We’re committed to supporting the growth and development of women in our industry.

We believe that by investing in women, we’re investing in the future of our industry.
