Legacy Project – Holland’s De Zwaan Windmill

Holland's De Zwaan Windmill repairs and restoration projects EV Construction

Built in the 1830s and transported from the Netherlands to Holland, Michigan in 1964, the De Zwaan Windmill stands as a living piece of history. Over the years, EV Construction has proudly helped preserve this treasured landmark—from repairing its iconic blades in 1999 to restoring its observation deck and cap in 2010.

In celebration of EV Construction’s 80th anniversary, we asked our interns to interview longtime team members and revisit some of the legacy projects that have helped shape who we are today.

In this video, Project Management Intern, Josh, talks with EV’s Director of Field Management, Brian White, about the behind-the-scenes stories and what it takes to maintain a centuries-old Dutch windmill right here in West Michigan.
