Corewell Health invests $43.7M to expand Holland medical center

Corewell Health Holland Expansion 2025 EV Construction

Corewell Health will add medical services in Holland with a $43.7 million expansion of an outpatient campus that’s intended to support growth and increase patient access and convenience.

When the project is done in two years, the health system will add MRI and CT medical imaging and cancer treatment options at the Holland campus, located at Lakewood Boulevard and U.S. 31.

Corewell Health also will expand primary care and medical specialties such as orthopedics with the project, which includes renovating 60,000 square feet of existing space to “do some refresh and rearrange some services” and building a 40,000-square-foot addition, said Kim Sherbrooke, senior vice president for operations at the Corewell Health Medical Group.

The project will bring the Holland campus up to par with other large outpatient medical centers the health system operates across the region, Sherbrooke said.

Construction on the renovation and expansion began in August. Holland-based EV Construction Co., which built the existing medical center that opened in 2012, is serving as the general contractor on the project, which was designed by Kalamazoo-based Diekema Hamann Architecture + Engineering LLC.
