Southridge Behavioral Hospital

EV partnered with Universal Health Services (UHS) and Trinity Health on complete preconstruction and construction services for a new, 96-bed behavioral health hospital. The roughly 73,500-SF facility is built on 8.3 acres off 64th Street in Byron Center, Michigan. The facility also includes dining, administration areas and offices, a dedicated kitchen, patient activity courtyard and indoor gymnasium.

Fun Facts

  • This project took over 135,000 labor hours to construct, which equates to an average of 45 tradespeople per day onsite from start to finish of construction.
  • Over 40,000 cubic yards of sandfill, or just over 3,000 full sized dump truck loads, were brought in to bring the site to grade before construction of the building could start.
  • The facility has 444 total doors. These openings contain 105 total maglocks and over 25,000 total tamper-resistant fasteners.
  • 92,215 feet of electrical conduit – which is over 17 miles.
  • 425,766 feet of wire pulled – that’s over 80 miles of wire!
