C.J. MacKenzie Appointed as the Director of Preconstruction
HOLLAND, Mich., August 25, 2022 —EV Construction, a leading West Michigan construction management firm, has hired construction veteran C.J. MacKenzie to lead the firm’s preconstruction department.
In his new role, MacKenzie will lead the preconstruction and project planning efforts, including management of preconstruction staff. His leadership responsibilities include overall department resources management, process improvement and cross-departmental coordination with construction operations. He will have a heavy focus on cost estimating, scheduling, logistical planning and procurement.
Of his new role, MacKenzie stated, “I look forward to leading an already talented preconstruction team, empowering them to think outside the box, utilize and leverage new technology platforms to better optimize constructability and project deployment while focusing on generating new cost models as we expand our portfolio locally and nationally.”
MacKenzie is a graduate of Ferris State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. He is a Michigan registered builder and holds a certificate from the GiANT Worldwide Leadership School. Additionally, MacKenzie is on the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Michigan Board of Directors and a foundation board member for Ride for a Cure and the Lori J. MacKenzie Memorial Scholarship.
“The planning and preconstruction phase of any project is critical to its overall success. Planning a project can take longer than the actual construction in many cases. We are excited to have C.J. on our team to guide and lead our clients through this important part of the construction process,” shared John Parker, Vice President of Project Development.
Prior to coming to EV Construction, MacKenzie spent time working for other firms in the area.
